Advances in Tagging & Marking Technology for Fisheries Management & Research [more info]
2/24/2008 - 2/28/2008 - Auckland, New Zealand - Melinda and Roger enjoyed the opportunity to attend this very constructive gathering. While there, Roger presented a talk entitled "Crossing the Twilight Zone," which outlined alternate geolocation techniques.
28th Annual Symposium on Sea Turtle Conservation and Biology [more info]
1/21/2008 - 1/27/2008 - Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico - During the sympoisum, Heather and Ann were especially pleased to hear from some Mk10-AF users that the Wildlife Computers Fast-GPS tags were far exceeding longevity expectations. Excellent!

The sympoisum, Loreto-style, provided several new experiences, including meeting with attendees in the open air of Plaza Salvatierra, and after the rains began, down the road in the auditorium. This gave us a unique opportunity to listen to the remaining presentations while simultaneously staffing the table. We also welcomed the opportunity to again assist by providing student travel funds for the event.

17th Biennial Conference on the Biology of Marine Mammals [more info]
11/29/2007 - 12/3/2007 - Cape Town, South Africa - Melinda is now back from this informative event, where she attended a pre-conference PATOB workshop, as well as many of the presentations. She enjoyed hearing from researchers directly and in person regarding their needs and concerns. Look for us to attend again in 2009!

SCOR Panel on New Technologies for Observing Marine Life Workshop on Geolocation Methods
10/5/2007 - 10/6/2007 - We were pleased to have two of our design engineers, Roger and Todd, invited to attend this workshop, held in conjunction with the 2nd International Symposium on Tracking and Tagging of Marine Fish with Electronic Devices in Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain. This workshop provided an opportunity for the presentation and sharing of some exciting new developments in geolocation-derived position estimation. As always, we welcomed another opportunity to contribute to the on-going discussion on geolocation methods.
6th International Penguin Conference [more info]
9/3/2007 - 9/7/2007 - Hobart, Tasmania, Australia - Melinda and Heather had a great time chatting with users and learning more about what their research entails and what their particular instrumentation needs are. It was especially nice to have the opportunity to visit some of the Hobart CSIRO staff while "in the neighborhood."
